Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player secured his first championship for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult year, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in specific - caused him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with former coach Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks his initial championship after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court from that period of 2023.

The win also signifies Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 distinct tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my two daughters at once, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, featuring in that event earlier this year.

His defensive strategy and regular reactions on court had caused observers to doubt if his capacity to perform at the elite level was finished.

Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an better serve.

He recovered from a deficit in the first set against the challenging opponent, winning 4 of the final five exchanges to go ahead.

Both players traded break points in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial professional championship, took control to create a decider.

The opponent rescued 4 initial chances in a close final set before the Russian broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, he earned the title with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
